ID.CLO
D.CLO is an experimental project that explores fashion as a tool for identity, communication, and belonging. Through a printed publication, it examines how clothing shapes our perception and allows us to construct personal and collective narratives.
Based on theoretical research and a survey of over 200 participants, the project investigates fashion as a complex and multifaceted phenomenon. Drawing on the work of Hal Fischer, John Carl Flügel, and Alison Lurie, ID.CLO highlights the contrasting ways in which fashion can empower or constrain individuals.
The publication presents the stories of six characters, each offering a different perspective on fashion and identity. Their thoughts, graphically represented in brackets, create an emotional connection with the reader and invite reflection on the cultural, social, and emotional impact of clothing.
With a visual language inspired by archival aesthetics and contemporary documentation, ID.CLO breaks away from traditional design conventions to propose a fresh and experimental approach. The project also extends its vision to digital media with a web prototype and promotional videos, reinforcing its narrative and amplifying its reach.
"Fashion is a non-verbal visual language that serves as a tool for identity, communication, and belonging."
